Samhita Mundkur

Samhita Mundkur started singing at a young age and has trained in both classical and light music. Holding Masters degrees in both Sanskrit and French, Samhita has had the opportunity to perform on radio and television since childhood, in Mumbai, India and later in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Samhita has participated in several theatrical and musical performances in India, France, Kenya and Malaysia and has had the good privilege of working with some great artistes and composers in India, including Bhaskar Chandavarkar, Zakir Husain, Taufiq Qureshi, Piyush Kanojia, Louis Banks. Having taught vocal music in Kuala Lumpur, Samhita has also been involved with organising music programmes. In the year 2000, Samhita received additional training from Shri Vikas Kashalkar and Shrimati Veena Sahasrabuddhe in "Khyal" singing in Pune, India. Through her singing, Samhita has helped raise funds for charitable causes and her recent music CD of devotional songs supports a charity for underprivileged children in Pune, India.
