Amit Diwadkar

Amit is a versatile musician. His primary instrument remains the piano and he mainly performs Indian classical music on the Piano/Keyboards. Having learned the Samvadini from Pandit Manohar Chimote and Tabla from Ustad Allarakha school of Music, his understanding of Melody and Taal helps him to explore crossovers to present Indian classical music on the Piano. Amit also performs light vocal, Thumari, Ghazals in his unique style where he attempts to create an exquisite balance of Raag, Taal and Piano. Amit had the opportunity to perform with musical greats - Pt. Birju Maharaj, Smt. Shaswati Sen and Late O. P. Nayyer (Legendry music director). He was awarded All India Swarsadhana Award, in 1994 and 1996, also the Government of India scholarship (Ministry of Culture) for talented musician for year 2003-2004. Amit has performed in various countries like UK, Kuwait, Singapore, Japan and Australia. Amit has recently started music institute 'Samvad' in Sydney where he teaches Tabla, Vocal and Keyboard/Piano.
